Company/Concept

SBT's strategy focuses on the development of innovative products and services, integrating the possibilities offered by new technologies and the advances made through academic research in the areas of cognitive psychology and neuropsychology.

SBT has become the European specialist for cognitive engineering dedicated to the fields of preventive healthcare and human resources.

Through its experience the company has acquired worldwide recognition, as several analyses by field experts show (SharpBrains, IDATE, etc.).

Since its creation, SBT has made significant investments in Research and Development (2.5 M € by the end of 2009), which is recognised and supported by ANVAR [French Agency for Innovation] and by the French Ministry of Research through various national and European projects.

With its highly qualified employees a network of internationally recognized external experts, SBT guarantees the scientific rigour and innovative qualities of its solutions.

Over the last few years, SBT's Research and Development activities have focussed on several areas:

  • Definition of mental exercises designed to stimulate a particular area of cognitive function. The exercise scenarios are usually based on scientific protocols produced by research laboratories and adapted to satisfy the following conditions: to make the exercises enjoyable for users and thus avoid any sense of tiredness or frustration (a major defect of competitor products), to offer a wide range of user-definable variants so that there are many different levels of difficulty to choose from and at the same time to guarantee the scientific quality of the result.
  • The development of training monitoring and supervision algorithms. These software components are used to archive data, perform comparative analyses and generate personalised comments and advice on training (automatic selection of exercises and levels of difficulty in order to ensure optimum progress).
  • Technological transfer for adaptation to specific platforms (Web, CD-ROM, DVD, TVI, PDA, mobile telephone etc.) using different languages (Shockwave, Flash, Java, ASP, ASP.Net etc.).
  • The integration of its services in e-learning and serious game environments.
  • The development of cognitive rehabilitation and remediation programs for healthcare professionals, dedicated to patients affected by neurological pr psychiatric pathologies.

Since the inception of its online service www.happy-neuron.com, more than 50 million individual performances have been archived in its databases, making this a unique resource for analysing and checking the reliability of the tools developed.
