History

SCIENTIFIC BRAIN TRAINING was founded on 31st August 2000 when three experts in the fields of cognitive science and information technology joined forces to design and produce cognitive ability training software for mature adults.

Thanks to longer life expectancy and advances in medical science, the proportion of mature adults and over 75s is continuing to grow in developed countries. It is clear that the decline of individual mental ability needs to be treated, but delaying and preventing this process should also be addressed.

When the Company was founded, there were no tools available to meet this challenge, either in France or in any other developed country.

2000
SBT becomes the first company in the world to start exploring this area.

2002
The first products are marketed following 18 months of research and development.

2004
The product range is expanded and SBT starts trading on the US market.
The group Vedior Bis becomes a partner in the development of products designed for HR applications.

2005
The year 2005 marks the success of the company's scientific, strategic and commercial business plan.
SBT grants a license to the American company Quixit Inc. comprising Web technologies and CD-ROMs for its general public range HAPPYneuron™. At this point, SBT has a 20% share in Quixit.

2006
SBT secures the necessary resources to finance its external growth and completes an IPO on Euronext Paris. The Human Resources activity expands with major cognitive engineering projects and in October, the company acquires 60% of the capital of the Paris based company Arnava, French leader in the field of assessment. SBT is now able to offer the most complete product and service range for behavioral an cognitive assessments dedicated to major companies.

2007
SBT enters the Japanese market with a set of 7 CD-Roms specifically designed for this market and distributed by two local companies.
Launch of www.happyneuron.de for the German speaking world (Germany, Austria, Switzerland...), offering the same cognitive online training services as in France.
SBT acquires its former North American distributor Quixit, renamed HAPPYneuron Inc., in order to reinforce the company's position in the U.S..

2008
In February, SBT acquires the company Créasoft, a French speech therapy software publisher.
SBT works on developing an innovative technique for computer-assisted cognitive rehabilitation for depression patients through a CIFRE grant, a French government issued scholarship for a joint research project between a PhD student, a university research department, and a private company.
A capital increase is effected in June.
SBT strengthens its position on the international through major partnerships in the U.S., in Germany, in Austria, and in Korea.

2009
Given the global financial crisis, SBT has consolidated its market shares.
HAPPYneuron is chosen by numerous international companies to develop localized "brain training" services: Czech Republic, Turkey, Brazil...

2010
In February, SBT acquires the company Symetrix, a specialist in the fields of e-learning and serious games. The company thus grasps the opportunity to expand its offer in the Human Resources sector by combining an assessment service (Arnava) and a customized e-learning service (Symetrix).
