ARNAVA: Assessment through simulation exercises
In October 2006, SBT decided to reinforce their position on the Human Resources market by acquiring the company ARNAVA.
As an assessment specialist, particularly for major companies, Arnava offer assessment programs for skills and potential of executive officers and managers.
Arnava uses a set of tools, mainly simulation exercises, so as to come close to the "behavioral reality" of a person: simulation exercises allow to assess the candidate's performances. Arnava performs at least 3 simulation exercises for a recruitment procedure, and 6 to 12 for a comparative assessment or personal development.
What are simulation exercises?
Individual simulation exercise: Arnava raise a problem which the candidate has to solve within a given deadline. The types of problems are directly related to the type of skills that need to be evaluated: strategy, marketing organization, staff management, communication, judgement, etc...
Face-to-face simulation exercise: This is an interactive assessment procedure which may either be a negotiation or a conflict to be handled. The candidate faces a second participant or an actor who creates a tension.
Collective simulation exercise: 4 to 10 people work on a problem they need to discuss. This is one of the most interesting ways to observe lively, contributory, and leadership behavior in a task group. The goals may be solving the problem, managing the crisis, creativity, reaching a consensus, etc.
These role playing situations are completed with a psychometric part which, via interviews, personality tests, and questionnaires, and allow determination of the behavioral motivations and mechanisms of the candidate. This is where SBT solutions for cognitive potential assessment (PEPCo) are integrated.
As more and more assessment and identification programs of high potentials for the forward planning of Human Resources in managing boards of most major groups are created, the assessment market is currently steadily developing.
