Scientific Brain Training was founded by three scientists who established the following: SBT

 

Thanks to longer life expectancy and advances in medical science, the proportion of mature adults and over 75 in developed countries is continuously increasing.

This increase in life expectancy has resulted in two trends. One trend is longer life expectancy. It has become more and more essential to maintain cognitive and physical abilities, an attitude which has gained a strong foothold in consumer trends and has lead to an important change in behaviors.The second trend is that more and more people suffer from neurodegenerative diseases and perspectives are increasingly alarming. As an example, about 750,000 to 850,000 people suffer from Alzheimer's disease in France alone and each year an additional 250,000 new cases are diagnosed. By 2020 the disease could affect almost 1.3 million people in France.

Today, the aim is not to merely cure but also to prevent and delay the risk of decline of individual cognitive skills.

 

Since there were no adequate tools to meet these needs, three scientists in cognitive sciences and computing decided to join forces to remedy this issue and SBT on september 3, 2000 in order to address the need for training software for cognitive skills aimed at mature adults.


Over the years, SBT also developed its leading position on the speech therapy and cognitive rehabilitation market and thus acquired the company Créasoft in 2008.


SBT also maintains its international presence and continues to emphasize the development of the North and South American, Japanese, German, Corean, Czech, Brazilian, Spanish, and Turkish markets.


SBT offers the widest range of training and evaluation software for cognitive skills, based on the latest scientific findings.


In 2006, the acquisition of the Paris based company Arnava, who is specialized in assessments for recruitment procedures allowed SBT to truly position itself on the Human Resources

In 2010, after having considerably strengthened this position thanks to its cognitive assessments and training courses (memory, careful driving) in 2009, SBT continues to optimize the use of its PEPCo™ software and develops new assessment tools such as in-basket exercises.
