Santa Cruz, CA, July 27, 2010
HAPPYneuron, Inc., the leading provider of professional cognitive therapy solutions (http://www.scientificbraintrainingpro.com/), has launched the 'Aging Well' cognitive therapy program on its Scientific Brain Training PRO tele-medicine platform. The Aging Well program is a scientifically designed and validated course of supervised cognitive stimulation to help healthy seniors and those suffering from Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) deal with the symptoms of memory loss and cognitive decline. The Aging Well program resides on the Scientific Brain Training PRO tele-medicine platform and empowers cognitive therapists with the necessary tools to work effectively with their patients both within the clinic and their patient's home.

The Aging Well program (http://www.scientificbraintrainingpro.com/programs/aging-well) is designed by award winning Dr. Bernard Croisile, MD Neurology, Ph.D. and consists of 23 adaptive cognitive exercises in the form of interactive games. These games have been built to target a particular set of cognitive functions and to heighten patient engagement. Cognitive skills stimulated include memory, attention, language, visual-spatial skills and executive functions. The program framework contains many important features developed specifically for seniors such as larger fonts, larger buttons, touch-screen compatibility, little time pressure and plenty of hints and tips to encourage progress. "Our residents feel their skills are enhanced thanks to their work with the Aging Well program. They are very motivated by these new formats of memory workshops." Ms. Desroches, Clinical Therapist, La Providence Nursing Home, Le Coteaux, France.

The program can be administered by any professional care provider including cognitive therapists, geriatricians, nurse practitioners, cognitive psychologists, independent living and assisted living staff. Leveraging the power of the Web, clinical therapists now have all the tools necessary to assign seniors to the program, provide personalized coaching services and monitor program compliance and performance over time. "Designed with the professional therapist in mind, The Aging Well program on Scientific Brain Training PRO brings together tele-medicine delivery of critically important cognitive stimulation programs that enables, for the first time, fully supervised distance therapy. This can play an important role in enabling seniors to
stay in their homes and live more vital year," said Laura Fay, CEO, HAPPYneuron, Inc.

The Aging Well program delivers objective performance measurements helping in the assessment of patient cognitive decline over time. These measurements make the case for Medicare or Medicaid reimbursements of needed services. "Objective measures of patient performance are essential to support the case for continued reimbursable services," noted Bruce Brotter, PhD, COO and Director of Clinical Services, Memory Training Centers of America, whose organization offers memory treatment services for patients with MCI & Early Alzheimer's disease.

The Scientific Brain Training PRO platform is highly scalable making it suitable for individual therapist practices and large hospital systems alike. Currently the four cognitive treatment programs available include Cognitive Rehabilitation (http://scientificbraintrainingpro.com/programs/rehabilitation) (TBI, Stroke), Cognitive Remediation in Psychiatry (http://scientificbraintrainingpro.com/programs/cr-psychiatry) (Major depression, Schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder and PTSD), Aging Well (healthy seniors, MCI) and Memory Treatment (MCI and early Alzheimer's' disease).
HAPPYneuron is the first to surpass the 50M milestone for data results, while increasing its brain game portfolio with the launch of its 38th training game.

Mountainview, Calif. -- A first in the brain fitness industry, HAPPYneuron announces that it has amassed more than 50 million cognitive performance results worldwide in its online cognitive cross-training database, further strengthening its position as the largest brain fitness database available on the market today. This record number of data points allows HAPPYneuron to quickly and reliably provide the highest standard of accuracy in peer performance feedback. Today HAPPYneuron also launches its newest executive function game, Countdown, a math based game that engages working memory, long-term memory, mental imagery, and concentration. With the addition of this new game, HAPPYneuron's portfolio is now the largest collection of games offered by any online brain training program. HAPPYneuron's robust game collection delivers significant novelty and variety to the program and makes for more effective adaptive brain training workouts based on an individual's cognitive strengths and weaknesses. These are essential elements of effective brain training outcomes. This growing game collection and HAPPYneuron's increasing user base means the collection of results will only continue to grow. As more data is amassed, it benefits HAPPYneuron users through an increasingly accurate assessment of their cognitive training as compared to their peers.

"Passing the 50 million game results milestone allows HAPPYneuron to provide the highest standard of accuracy in user performance feedback," says Bernard Croisile, MD, PhD, Founder and Chief Scientist at HAPPYneuron. "This wealth of information provides an important cognitive brain wellness indicator."

Users that received a sneak peak of Countdown are excited about HAPPYneuron's new offering. "We love the new Countdown game. It's a great addition to the brain training program for our seniors," said Mitch Migliori, Director of Unitah County Brain Exercise Center, Utah.

HAPPYneuron's database size is a result of the company's commitment to continually innovate and publish new scientific brain games and its growing popularity around the globe. HAPPYneuron games are developed by a team of neurologists, cognitive psychologists and educational scientists to specifically target the five major cognitive brain functions of memory, attention, language, executive function and visual/spatial skills.

Increasing scientific evidence shows that actively participating in appropriately designed brain cross-training workouts can slow the effects aging has on the brain. The benefit of cross-training with new and novel material is well documented by research scientists and is critical for the generation of new neural networks in the brain. The HAPPYneuron online brain training program offers the most variety, novelty, and relevantly tailored feedback of any product of its kind on the market.

Mountain View, CA (SBT) November 24, 2009 -- HAPPYneuron's most popular and addictive game, SplitWords, is now available on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Split Words is designed to help banish that 'tip of the tongue' syndrome forever.

The SplitWords iPhone brain game challenges the brain by encouraging users to form complete words as quickly as possible from a set of syllables in a table. Words are categorized into themes and can have 2 or 3 syllable parts. The online version of SplitWords has been shown to be addictive for many people. The SplitWords iPhone brain game has been designed to be equally addictive.

With SplitWords iPhone brain game, people can publish their high scores to compare themselves to the world's best players. The iPhone brain game is available in English, Spanish, French, German and Dutch to give the brain a true multi-lingual workout. Two versions of the game are available -- the Quick challenge: A game with one set of syllables - for when users only have a few minutes to spare, and the Standard game, enabling continuous play with increasing difficulty up to 100 levels.

The ability to use language is a very important part of human cognition, and in modern-day life, verbal skills are of critical importance. Language brain games challenge the ability to recognize, remember and understand words. "Regular engagement with language games can expand the knowledge of new words and make retrieval of familiar ones much easier," said Dr. Bernard Croisile, M.D., Ph.D. , and Chief Science Officer at HAPPYneuron. The brain area exercised by the SplitWords iPhone brain game is the left temporal lobe, which gets activated when information retrieval is called upon.

"We are excited to continue to innovate and to extend our brain fitness programs to the iPhone platform, giving users new ways to exercise their brain," said Laura Fay, CEO of HAPPYneuron, Inc.. "HAPPYneuron's iPhone brain game is a great way to train your language skills during your down time on the go," she added.

Information about HAPPYneuron's iPhone SplitWords brain game can be found by clicking on http://www.happy-neuron.com/iphone-brain-games/splitwords/. It is available for download at the AppStore for only $3.99. A free demo version is also available.
